Willy Sommers heeft een nieuw platencontract op zak. ARS/Universal wil nog minstens vier albums met hem maken.

Willy Sommers is nog lang niet afgeschreven. Over een maand wordt hij 57 jaar, maar voor Sommers is dat geen reden tot wanhoop. Gisteren tekende hij bij platenhuis ARS/Universal immers een contract, goed voor vier platen. Sommers keert daarmee terug naar zijn roots. Dertien jaar geleden deed hij òòk al zaken met Universal, toen nog onder de naam Polygram.

 

Willy Sommers heeft de goeie deal te danken aan zijn optreden op het Schlagerfestival. "Toen ik zag wat Willy nog teweeg brengt bij de mensen wist ik dat we iets moesten doen", zegt Universal-baas Patrick Busschots. "Dit is een stevig contract, maar Willy is dan ook een levende legende. Het Vlaamse lied is verre van dood." (ViS)

Gelukkig zijn er nog platenfirma's die in het Vlaamse lied geloven, telkens ik naar een optreden ga van Willy Sommers zie ik een massa volk voor het podium staan, Willy is een echte publiekstrekker en een leeuw die pas op het podium uit zijn kooi word gelaten. Na een optreden maakt hij dan nog eens de tijd om iedere fan en toeschouwer een foto en een handtekening te geven. Willy's handtekeningsessies lopen meestal langer uit dan zijn optredens zelf!!! Hij is een échte vertrouwenspersoon voor de fans. Een nieuw platencontract is dan ook het bewijs dat Willy's carriere nog lang niet is afgelopen. Wie zegt dat onze Willy weer helemaal terug is geeft het absoluut bij het verkeerde eind.Al sinds onze jeudjaren zijn we vurige fans van Willy en steeds heeft hij het beste van zichzelf op elk optreden.
Je mag er zeker van zijn dat hij nooit na een optreden zal weg gaan zonder z'n fans een lief woordje toe te spreken, dat is wat Willy zo bijzonder maakt.
Hij en vooral wij als fans mogen terecht fier zijn dat we er nog stevig tegen aan kunnen vliegen,de komende jaren dankzij dat gloednieuwe platencontract.
